The 2% Levy: Exactly 2% is deducted from all gross grassroots mutual aid donations to offset the physical and digital costs of running a serverless platform, ensuring upfront operational disclosure.

How the System Works

• No Fancy Red Tape: When street-level micro-losses occur (stolen cables, ripped sleeping bags, lost IDs), peers simply submit a request from a library computer. No complex case worker appointments, zero ID requirements, and no multi-week waiting lists.
• How Items Are Received:
  • Sub-$15 Micro-Losses: Direct e-transfer liquidity. Funds are sent immediately so peers can replace cheap survival tools themselves.
  • $15 - $250 Major Replacements: Physical verification and cooperative purchasing. We physically meet the peer at the retail location. The peer selects the item, and we swipe the card. Cash is never handed over for high-value items to prevent diversion or predatory taxation by local street networks.
• The Queue (Donation Flow): Funding is strictly sequential (First-In-First-Out). To prevent bias, donors fund the queue, not individuals. A donation fills the top active request first; any overflow automatically cascades down to fund the next peer in line.
• The 2% Infrastructure Levy: A strict 2% markup is added to every peer request before it enters the public queue. This 2% is not kept as profit; it is deposited into the Project Sponsorship account to strictly offset the Cloudflare server costs, domain hosting, and physical transit costs required to execute these operations.
